Weeks 9 and 10

October 26th, 2011
I checked the bacteria and found that none of them grew.  I found that I did not inoculate my plates properly.  I inoculated new dishes and let them all incubate.
October 27th, 2011
I checked the plates again to find that it is still not inoculating.  I tried again to get bacteria to grow and put my sample tubes in the incubator along with it to encourage bacteria growth.
November 3rd, 2011
This time bacteria grew.  The EMB agar had bacteria growing in it, but contamination had taken place.  Still, because the area where the streaks were was colorless, it shows that the bacteria do not ferment sugars, as indicated by other tests.  The MacConkey agar was also colorless, which indicates no lactose fermentation, as also indicated by past tests.  The Mannitol Salt agar, on the other hand, had grown but the agar did not change color, therefore giving a negative test.
